Stitch Guide:
2 dc cl = yo, insert hook in indicated sp or st, draw up a loop, yo, draw through 2 loops, yo, insert hook in indicated sp or st, draw up a loop, yo, draw through 2 loops, yo, draw through 3 remaining loops.

Beginning 2 dc cl = ch 3, yo, insert hook in indicated sp or st, draw up a loop, yo, pull through 2 loops, yo, pull through 2 remaining loops on hook

Start with a magic loop

Round 1: beg 2 dc cl, ch 3, (2dc cl, ch 3) 7 times, join with sl st in top of beg 2dc cl = 8 2dc cl, 8 ch 3 sps

Round 2: sl st into ch 3 sp, (sc, ch 3, sc) in each ch 3 sp around, join in first sc = 16 sc, 8 ch 3 sps

Round 3: sl st to ch 3 sp, *(sc, hdc, dc, dc) in ch 3 sp, ch 3, (dc, dc, hdc, sc)  in next ch 3 sp,* ch 3, rep from * to * 2 more times, ch 3, rep * to * once more, join with sl st to beg sc, fasten off

To join motifs: on Round 3, when doing the ch 3 sps, ch only one, join wrong sides together by sl st into corresponding space on other motif, ch 1, and continue working (for example, for the ch 3 - ch 1, join with sl st to opposite motif's corresponding ch 3 sp, ch 1, continue working to next ch 3 sp)
